![]() ![]() ![]() #EDIT SIDPLAY FILE SOFTWARE#Absolutely no third-party software I'd tried was able to get a file listing properly, let alone load a data file to copy it from drive 9 (Uno) to drive 8 (real 1541). Something I learned from this long and tedious process is that Uno2IEC really doesn't like being told anything other than what CBM BASIC (or DOS?) does to the drive for load/list operations. Then, after that long and tedious process (and LOTS of research leading up to it - absolutely NO file-manipulation programs I've found will work with the Uno2IEC!), it worked, and I was playing SIDs on my C64. Hint: "j" key when the file is selected, then in the editor view, the upper-left "<-" key to switch to hex mode, use cursor keys to navigate, Enter to commit, "r" to write it back to disk, then "q" to quit - also "h" for overall editor help. If you overwrite the first two bytes of the SID with 0x01 0x08 (in place of "PS" in "PSID", for example), it'll line up properly on the disk and you can just jump to the sector and edit the correct bytes back into place. save "sanxion.sid",8,1), then editing the disk to repair the SID file header in a C64-based editor ("Disk Maintenance") - just the first 10-odd bytes get corrupted by C64 storing BASIC symbols in place of the real header. d64, loading with Uno2IEC into BASIC space (load "sanxion.sid",9,1. SID file header with the 0x01 0x08 header (load address), inserting into a. I managed to get it working with a real 1541 I restored, along with a long chain of BS involving tweaking a. Well, there dashes my hopes :( Hope the project is still alive and maybe I can help offer some help!) (edit: I see there's another thread in the Feedback forum - one of the three threads there ) - that mentions trying to use Uno2IEC with SIDPlay64. ![]() d64 image in WinVICE, and it works/plays great. It's also worth noting that I HAVE tested my. It always returns with the RESTORE button, though, which strike me as unusual - it's still "alive" but it sharts the bed in some way. #EDIT SIDPLAY FILE FULL#The Uno2IEC behaves most like an SD2IEC (it can't emulate a full drive most demos give me the "98 NOT IMPLEMENTED" error and hang/crash), but in this case, Uno2IEC's interface gives no errors it's still waiting for the system to request more data from the drive, but it never does. This behavior is the same with both the "Normal" and the "SD2IEC" version. If I don't enable skipping, the program always hangs after that bit of loading. With a song that plays at $0000 (Wally Beben's Tetris), and skipping $0000's enabled, the program will display the red border and return to menu after 508 bytes. The program is capable of displaying fairly verbose information through its UI, and it always seems to hang loading after the first 508 bytes. My problem is that sidplay64 seems to hang/crash after loading the first 508 bytes of any given SID file from Uno2IEC. I'm stuck with an Uno2IEC, mostly for owning an Arduino and lack of ability to find any better device to buy, and I'm desperately trying to listen to the Sanxion loader on my C64, freshly resurrected from the graveyard with a number of new parts.
